The Good Kind of Poison

The Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale, Arizona, is an absolute gem of an indie bookstore, and one of the “holy sites” for all mystery writers. So I was more than thrilled to do an event there earlier this spring.

The format is great: They invited two disparate writers, me and Robert Knott, who writes the Cole and Hitch western series (originally created by the legendary Robert B. Parker). The format at The Poisoned Pen is to interview both writers on their works, and on the craft of writing, and to post the interviews on Youtube.

It’s a great format, especially for two guys like us with very different genres but plenty of books under our belts. (he’s on No. 7, I think. St. Nicholas Salvage & Wrecking is No. 8 for me.)

It was an honor to take part.
